This is good news but make sure you talk to a lawyer. There were some cases of people (c1d visa) who went home with approved 601a but were denied on their interview because of fraud/misrepresentation during trump time. So they were stuck at their home country for a while to do the 601 waiver.

Yeah. Well, it did sound too good to be true.

On the plus side, immigration reform is happening by the end of the summer.

Bwahahahaha.

PS. I am really tired. Remove the 3-10 year bars!

Find a lawyer and bring it explicitly to their attention. Hell, even before 2018 few knew that D/S non-immigrants for the most part do not accrue unlawful presence. As I said before, immigration law has a bit too many laborers (who just happily grind out I-130s, I-140s, H-1Bs, etc) and too few artists (who can actually take on the difficult cases: waivers, matters of admissibility, cancellation of removal, VAWA, etc).

Note to J non-immigrants: Check if you're subject to the foreign residency requirement, if you are, you will require an No Objection Statement from the government in your country of origin.

Yep. Getting the immigrant visa from consulate abroad will be a leap of faith though.
