Excuses? That is reality. They simply are not going to over-rule her or fire her... at least over this provision. Just being mad at them, yelling at them, and telling them to do the most extreme things will not get us anywhere, either.

And WTF not? You think the GQP cared about objections of the parliamentarian during previous tax cuts pushes? No, they go in hard, without lube, because they aren't pussies when it comes to tax cuts:

lol just our luck. Out of all types of lawyers she could have been - maybe a patent lawyer, or a personal injury lawyer, or elder law, or even just a regular immigration lawyer, with our fucking luck she turns out to be the lawyers of our worst enemy.

This is fake news. Macdonough worked on immigration in the late 90s. ICE didn’t exist until 2003.

She worked for INS which was the predecessor of ICE.

Because.... math???? Because Democrats are not going to and cannot do it? Even if they overrule her or fire her, they have to have 50 votes. In the current environment, there are at least two Democratic Senators who will likely oppose such an attempt..? You really need to face reality. If the Democratic leadership did anything remotely close to what you wish they would do, they would face backlash from moderates and Republicans. If they had 54 or more votes in the Senate, they could easily do it like you said. They don't have that.

Republicans are like that. They are political terrorists. And, without 50 votes supporting such an attempt, either party cannot just "go hard"... even the Republicans cannot do that.

I am not making excuses for the Democrats. They simply cannot do it in the current environment UNLESS they are united and all of them wish to do that.
