The American people need to see the democrats fighting for them with everything that’s included in the reconciliation bill… then they can be the judges next November.
we need to stop calling them "moderates", these fuckers are straight up cons. Moderates are between progs and these dem cons.

YES! Thank you! I’ve been trying to say this exactly. The constant wishing for republicans to be back in office to show those damn democrats it’s getting old.

Sorry honey, that dog don't hunt. Just because the Dems used lube instead of raw dogging us like republicans doesn't mean we consented.

You fail to understand the bigger picture. Republicans don’t give a crap about us, yes we know that. Democrats on the other hand gives us a small bandaid knowing damn well that could be taken away from us at any time.

DACA will eventually make its way into the courts where our future may be very bleak. The time for action is NOW, because once the courts strike it down, there is no way Congress will be rushing to fix the issue, specially in a re-election year.

We can’t sit back and say…
“Well I’m comfortable with just DACA, so if the Democrats who have made promises to us sit back and do nothing than I’m cool with that”

We simply can not afford this time of mentality because the time and the courts are simply not on our side.

Let's do a thought experiment.

Let's say that tomorrow, the Dems magically get 65 Senate seats. Do they pass comprehensive immigration reform, yes or no?

Let's say that alternatively, tomorrow, Republicans get 65 Senate seats, plus the Presidency and the House instead. Do they pass even the most popular part of immigration reform like DACA?

It's obvious that Republicans have a restrictionist position and Democrats want to do something but have tremendous difficulty because of a myriad of constrains imposed on them by the rules and their razor thin majorities.

Those cynics who try to portray the Democrats and the Republicans as functionally the same on this issue like to think they are world weary but they are really engaging in facile thinking.

I’m not sure if you even read what I wrote or just pretending as if you didn’t. Of course I know what our faith would be with the Republicans, that’s a damn given, and no one is saying them having power over Democrats is a good thing.

What I am saying is that just because the Democratic Party tends to be pro-DACA, we shouldn’t settle for scraps and have this “oh well” mentality because at the end of the day, that isn’t going to get us anywhere. It’s just a matter of time when the higher court rules against us and then what?

And then we start putting pressure on them during an election year knowing damn well no one is going to even want to discuss the immigration issue then? No, the time for action is now!

The Democrats can do it, it’s just a matter of IF they want to do it. End the filibuster, put a reasonable bill for a vote, and dare the Democrats to vote for it or show their true colors. But to sit back and do nothing is not acceptable. It’s either now or never, because 2022 won’t be so kind to them and 2024 is not a lock!

Some people just don’t understand the idea of holding people accountable.

Lol, It kinda feels like a choice between a death by a million cuts by the democrats or a nice swift deep jab to the heart by the republicans.

I’m very aware of how things work. No need for condescending replies.

My comment still stands, even with Democrats not keeping up with their promises we will always be better off with them in power. Stop with the mental gymnastics yall do with “they’re both bad in their own way” BS.
