The near party-line vote of 48 votes to advance against 50 opposed fell short of the 60 votes needed to push the bill ahead in the 100-seat Senate. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer voted "no" to allow him to call another vote.

Democrats who narrowly control both chambers of Congress now have just three days to find another way to keep the government operating beyond Thursday - when current funding expires.
...
60 votes required by Thursday or government shutdown. There's a 0.000000000000000001% chance republicans want something in there to deal with the border and dems put something in for DACA & TPS.

Stop it. The political world doesn’t revolve around DACA. Short-term funding bill incoming.

It doesn’t, but we have a huge vested interest in the issue for obvious reasons

As always, Republicans are the problem. Bunch of obstructionists.

Well the republicans voted no but there's no way the government shuts down for an extended period of time so they voted no for a reason. Is it just to shut down the government for a few days to bash the democrats in the news cycle or do they want something?

Republicans would like the market to crash for few days, so that they and their "friends" can invest heavily. Then they will eventually relent and vote to raise the debt ceiling - and bring home handsome profits.

Market has dropped significantly even today. Invest, invest, invest - before they vote "yes" on debt ceiling - which they eventually will.

Since Plan B was rejected by the the Parliamentarian, this is the only 60 vote bill that's going to pass probably this year. The next thing to do is to see what the republicans ask for (if anything) to get their votes to raise the debt ceiling.
