Maybe so but you know somehow TPS wriggled its way to be bundled with Dreamers. So we're being viewed as one at this point. Basically like original LGBT morphing into LGBTQIA+

Would they have? GOP doesn't really care about their own voters, and enacts legislation that is not in interest of their constituents (but luckily for them, they can just use fear mongering and fake news to get their voters back on their side come election time)

It says the 1984 legalization bill affected 3 million people.

Genuinely believing it. Last time immigration reform passed was under R presidency. If R were on our side vs Democrats they would of produced something. Those underhanded bastards been winning for decades. I’m just tired of playing with a bunch of losers.

We've seen this type of blocking game before, nothing new here - specially in the Obama years. What I'd hope that would happen by now is that democrats learn from previous failures and make shit hit the fan for once, to get their way for once. Republicans do it all the time.

The last piece of immigration reform relevant to us was done under Reagan. Not saying he is right but he isn't completely wrong. Personally I can't think of a single issue where democrats are winning legislatively on the federal level. Republicans however... Gun laws, judges, energy, policing, taxes, climate and the list goes on.

Our last hope

Democratic aides, however, said on Wednesday that they still have other proposals they could present to the parliamentarian. "We have prepared for different scenarios," one Democratic aide said. "We're not done here."

Remaining options include proposals that would allow certain immigrants to obtain temporary immigration benefits known as deferred action and parole, the aides said.
