While I'm not the biggest fan of this piece of proposed legislation, because like many of you, I want a path to citizenship. In my opinion, this is a partial win. Maybe not so much for myself, but to all the other folks that couldn't get DACA.

Reading comments on /DACA on reddit, on how this passing would impact other DREAMERS that didn't qualify for DACA was eye opening. It reminded me of that feeling in 2012 when DACA first became a reality and how I personally felt. Some of us clearly forgot that and it's a shame.

Dems aren't united. They're only the majority on paper. Sinema and Manchin are getting huge political donations. The longer these bills take, the longer these lobbyists have the time to work on the senators in their favor and they are very successful at it. I no longer think immigration related bills will pass this year, simply because the government right now can't even do basic things like raising the debt limit to keep the government open.

That’s the attitude to take. Fuck the bullshit, America is not the best country in the world.

this is the dumbest idea ever proposed. they're going to be complacent with "letting ppl travel and not be deported" as a clean compromise in place of giving actual legal status? if explaining DACA was hard to people outside of the legal field, imagine explaining this to future employers, law enforcement etc.

biden, democrats, schumer.. what a let down.

as I have always said before, marriage is the only way.

we are going another hellish 20 yrs with this sort of BS back and forth in Congress.
Why? Dems are losers who are trying to make friends with GOP, and when GOP is in power, they're too busy trying to deport us.

I stopped paying attn to immigration news ever since the Haiti border crisis broke out. Clearly we are on the path to NOWHERE!!!!!

Understandable with everyone's frustrations but being cynical and "realistic" will do nothing for us...plus not everyone wants or can marry a citizen.

While disappointing, dems did put in effort to get us included in their bill (which may or not even pass!)...and there is still time we could be in some form. So let's be hopeful because it's not over.

Nah. They didn't put in any real effort. Nancy Pelosi stood on the house floor for 12 hours in heels to talk about adding DACA in one of the appropriations bill. At the time republicans controlled the house so it was pointless.

However, now as speaker, she doesn't even bring up this option..
