I'm so tired of this fight.

Too old for this.

Please let me travel to other countries and come back in peace

I'm definitely NOT a citizen (legally I am obligated to say that because it's a crime otherwise) and I fully support this. Living without DACA is a nightmare that keeps getting worse. Just when you think life can't suck anymore, something new pops up and meanwhile you're watching yourself get old without anything to show for it. Parole would be a lifeline for non-DACA Dreamers (and other undocumented) and allow those who have ways of getting full legal status to go forward with it. For the rest, it stabilizes their lives for a bit and gives them a chance to gain status in the future.

This all or nothing stuff won't win.

IMO, that's not the point of the article. Of course parole for everyone without DACA is a godsend, and much better than nothing. The issue here is that the people supposedly "fighting" for us in Washington DC are inexplicably squandering an opportunity to settle things for us once and for all by providing permanent legal status, with a pathway to citizenship. And the parole thing isn't even indefinite like DACA, it just ends after 1 renewal (10 years). Where does that leave us in 2031? Because it's obvious that things will be even worse then politically speaking. I personally see it as setting an end date to my life in the US, because I have multiple illegal entries and absolutely no way to ever gain citizenship without Congress.

Didn't they already try that with plans A and B?

That's not true. After 10 years, you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. DACA itself was on super shaky ground from the start and it should have been killed off by the courts as soon as it came out the same as DAPA was had Republicans were not caught napping. They've trying to get rid of it for the last 4 years now and still haven't.

Besides, in 10 years, a lot of people will have found other ways to get permanent residency through work, marriage, other citizen family members, and in 10 years a lot can happen legally too.

… and plus, with the ability to travel you may find a place that you actually like better than this country and move there instead. So having 10yrs to figure things out aint so bad as long as the ability to travel easily is in this parole.

I like how people are rooting for parole now. It's gonna be funny when even parole gets taken out and Biden issues useless executive actions that do nothing. BBB ya'll. They are slow burning doing nothing for immigrants, every week, it's less and less.
