So he’s against the parole provision as it stands in the house version?

The article is rehashed old news invested with partisan bias.

We knew that Manchin was not going to vote to overrule the parliamentarian. But if the parliamentarian approves the plan C, will he vote for the measure regardless of whether there's a border crisis? In all likelihood he will.

Beyond this, what we know is that Dem staffers have had unofficial meetings with the parliamenterian in order to find out what will pass muster with him.

I don't care whatever anyone else outside the parliamentarian and the 50 dems think about what is legal and under the Byrd rule. If the parliamentarian approves and 50 dems vote for it, the bill passes. That's the game. Everything else is noise.

I wouldn't make much of this opinion piece, specially coming from this bias author, just take a look at the pieces he has written in the past. I think at this point just sit back and wait until the end of the year to see what happens and stop reading all the articles that these "experts" write, tbh no one knows how this is going to end.

If Manchin doesn't vote in favor, major campaign to get him out would be nice

Manchin will not run again and the chance of WV electing a Democrat is extremely slim.

At this point I think that losing the senate would be better than having a majority that hinges upon two DINOs. With minority you at least get to run on "look at those republican assholes obstructing everything we want to do", you don't get to run the same way if the obstruction comes from within your own tent.

The fact that a GOP controlled Senate put so many DACA bills up for a vote, regardless if we agreed with them or not, and this Democratic controlled Senate has not put at least ONE truly says a lot IMO.
