Permanent bar is different from the 3 and 10 year bars, there is no waiver for it). So basically we're just kind of waiting while I get some more work experience. If anything happens, cool. If not, we're thinking Canada. I'm waiting because I'd really like to become a CRNA and Canada doesn't have CRNAs. Also, validating a nursing license in Canada is a bit of a lengthy process and I still need some more work experience. If it comes down to it, I'll apply for NP school there.
PB means you have to stay out of USA for 10 years then you can apply to be considered. What makes you PB? Why haven’t to applied for Canada yet? Do you qualify?

[quote=yummy11226;766884]I came in 1995 at the age of 14 and was aged out of Daca due to Obama's arbitrary cut off date. Being a minor I had no choice in coming here but in my innocent youth I looked forward to it. My mother was beaten on the regular by by asshole father and would have killed all of us eventually.

We arrived with inspection and with nothing. Unfortunately for us we did dot know anything about the legalities of immigration and did not know that we could have applied for asylum. We did not even know the importance of a social security number and we could have bought it (someone worked in the local office was selling them for $400 on the DL - go figure! Being 1995 it was relatively easy). My father got the hook up and returned to our home country leaving us without).

Worse, my mother had siblings and family who migrated to the US and were aware of the immigration process and instead of educating us, left us to suffer because they also suffered before they "made it". I'll never understand those who blame their parents being here because obviously everyone who comes here is searching for a better life for their kids. As an adult nothing is stopping you from returning to your home country.

Anyway, as my mother got older it got increasingly difficult to find jobs as a house keeper so she had no choice but to self deport. One of her siblings did file for her but lied about it initially after he was called out 15 years prior unknowing to us. It was a surprise to all of us when she got the approval letter in 2018. She no longer had the 10 year ban over her head and was able to return to the US where she's living with me. She has now petitioned me and we're waiting on the date to become current. Thankfully my boss knows my situation and i'm working with an ITIN number paying taxes.

Life has been hell but I know for a fact it could have been so much worse. I'll always be grateful to my mom for making that sacrifice.

I agree I am way better off here then ‘home’ country. How long to go before you can do AOS?

99 , 3 years old almost 4 EWI. Was super lucky to have had daca at 17 so I never accrued unlawful presence , married USC, did interview in home country (due to EWI) and been a perm resident since aug 2021. I’ll be able to get my citizenship in aug 2024 which is perfect timing for the presidential election

1 EWI? Congrats on your PR! In time to vote? There is a wait time as well to get your USC once you submit the application.
