We don't know yet. The initial count is 2 million beneficiaries, but without the actual bill we cannot have an exact idea of who all is included in this.

All this might not even matter.

The plan is to add the bill as an amendment to the omnibus and McCarthy is telling McConnell and the gop to not vote on the omnibus until next year when he is in charge. If the repubs are not planning to vote on the omnibus then all this is for a show.

How do we know McConnell will do what McCarthy wants though? There’s some r senators that would rather pass the omnibus bill this year than wait for next year.

i think what they generally mean is that it will be attached to a must pending bill, instead of standalone. if not omnibus, then continuing resolution.. or even national defense authorization ..

btw... in 2020, congress passed adjustment of status for certain liberians as part of national defense authorization bill

I totally forgot about that, but at least we know it can be done.

All we know is that the omnibus must pass by 12/16 or sooner but the Dems might extend it for an extra week to 12/23, and the plan is to attach whatever bill to the omnibus. The gop is considering not even voting for the omnibus until next year when they take the house, so this whole thing is a loooong shot
