This bill just keep getting worse and worse. And yes unless there’s a clause that dreamers with removals orders are exempt

If this is true that Tillis-Sinema bill takes from Succeed Act, this is going to be hard for Democrats to accept. Even though the selfish me wants permanent residence at any cost (well, not at any cost) but I can understand why this is going to be tough for Democrats.
One of the draconian clause is that Dreamers will NEVER be able to sponsor their immediate relatives - including spouse and children.

Tillis has to know that someone like Durbin isn't accepting this like at all. And I understand it.

It's become clear to me that Sinema's switch is to stymie a primary challenge. She just needs 50kish signatures to run independent as an incumbent.

The plus side of the above is to strengthen her position against a democratic challenger, she needs to strengthen her position in AZ (polling 20ish% amongst dems) and co-sponsoring a DACA fix certainly gives her that. It's completely self-serving survivor move but we may catch a windfall from her scuminess. The timing coinciding w/her leaving may be to dampen the move so we'll see how much goodwill she's actually buying.

I think we are fine so as long leadership gets everyone in line at time of voting. Schumer and herself have said nothing will change in terms of her voting preference. If anything, this might do well for the country to have more independents.

Here's
@AFPhq
analysis of Tillis and Sinema's border security and Dreamer framework. Obviously, we still need to read the text, but what's being offered in this package incorporates major asylum fixes and border investments that will actually get 60 votes.

Realistically, I don’t see how Senate democrats will accept it either. What’s being offered is Succeed act. Like 10 years of condition GC, then 5 year GC and then citizenship. Many DACA folks will be in 40s/50s before they get citizenship. Also, if I’m not wrong they won’t be able to sponsor family including spouse and children.

I don’t think you will get enough dems for it, even in Senate.
