I don’t think you will get enough dems for it, even in Senate.
Yep, some if us might be ok with even just codifying daca but Durbin and friends will not, I don't see the dems giving all that money and make asylum changes for a waterdown succeed act

I guess this is what it takes to get the Republicans to the table.

I think they are forcing it politically right because the House will definitely move it more to the left. If it passes the senate, then it will have to pass the house and then both changes will have to reconcile the differences. Will most likely be changed

I am personally fine with a conditional GC than a "renew every 2 years" TPS.

The original Dream Act had something like a wait period if im not mistaken.

NOW OR NEVER. CALL YOUR REPS AND SENATORS DONT LEAVE YOUR FATE UP TO THEM.

At this point, we will be lucky to get 10 year conditional gc. It's either that or scotus will make us illegal soon.

There’s no time to amend it and move it to the left. We got about two weeks. The House is gonna approve whatever the Senate gives it.

One of the draconian clause is that Dreamers will NEVER be able to sponsor their immediate relatives - including spouse and children.

Tillis has to know that someone like Durbin isn't accepting this like at all. And I understand it.

That means they would need to create a second category of permanent resident that cannot sponsor anyone and if that applies when a you become a citizen then again a second class of citizenship. I believe this would be a hard sell for Democrats.

Not going to happen with 10 Republican senators. You mean, we will be lucky if we get daca codified with ability to travel. Conditional gc have pathway to citizenship unless they make this category of conditional gc with no pathway..

Exactly. I think people are unnecessarily worried about 10 Reps. Math is there when it comes to Republicans between Tillis, retirees, newly re-elected Lisa M, etc

It’s the senate dems and even more house dems

It’s too strangely weird. Not a productive bill but instead punitive. 15 years pathway to citizenship and that also not full citizenship (no sponsorship of family). That’s like second class citizenship.

I hate that it is DOA for dems . But I see why.

Devil is in the details so let's wait before we lose hope. Currently as it stands, we would be getting green cards.
