I still can't believe that they put that ridiculous "not over 30 as of 2012" requirement in the 2012 DACA. My life would be COMPLETELY different right now if I had DACA since then. Yeah it's not fun to renew or whatever, but I don't think people realize how tough it is to first grow up as a Dreamer in school, then after school watch kids you grew up with keep rising in their lives and surpassing you and then when there is a glimmer of hope, get passed by and then see younger Dreamers also get work permits and then surpass you in every possible way yet again.

Worst part is that I don't see any ending here. In a blink of an eye I'll be retirement age and will end up dying on the streets once I can't do manual labor under the shadows anymore.

Immigration laws are like up to interpretation or something cuz I’ve heard of people having both DACA and TPS. But then I also heard you cannot have both at the same time. So it’s like if I apply for TPS, will my DACA be automatically cancelled? And what if DACA does end up getting something and some road to permanent residence and I end up being excluded from it since I opted for TPS? That’s what I am worried about. I’ve heard of people with both and I have been thinking of applying for TPS for the longest.

Afghans that didn't catch the parole or otherwise get asylum will get something done for them a lot sooner than DACAers. Moreover the current draft of the dream act includes those under TPS since well, a whole bunch of nations got added to that.

If I was you I'd take it, but the registration is open until sometime in 2025 so you can always wait and see what happens.

I'm sorry friend. You got a raw deal. I squeezed by with just weeks to spare - I imagine that my life would have been considerably different if things hadn't worked out.

Is there anything you can do? Can you work towards a certificate/degree and then apply for a job in Canada?

Why don't you roll the dice on AOS right now - while we still have a democrat in office?
