I heard that ACLU in selected states are working on a push for registry to deal with the issue...we'll see.

My renewal has been pending for 4.5 months my work permit will expire tomorrow and my case says it’s taking longer than normal to process. They received it October 24 it says that there is nothing outstanding. How much longer this is the first time this has happened it’s never been like this. My work hasn’t said anything but I don’t know what they’ll do. I called USCIS but they don’t do anything just say to wait.

I'm on the same exact boat!
No idea what this new week will bring us, hope your job doesn't bug you. I'm up for a promotion and I hope they aren't going to re-visit my EAD.
USCIS site just says "processing", I went as far as contacting a govt representative and they sent an inquiry but in the end, it's up to USCIS.
Damn Nebraska office, smh!

Renewal expires in June, submitted online in January, and approval notice received is dated by February 27th... So,
super-quick turnaround.

Did you have any change like a new address or was everything the same as your last application?

What I’m at 141 days and counting. Nothing changed no legal problems nothing just a renewal. I did it through the online version first time. I should have just sent it in the mail.

I just checked and it says time to completion 4 month I’m a week away from 5 months and now I need to wait 4 months. It’s still on step two biometrics which I don’t need to do. I’m hoping it’s not 4 more months.

Just saw this press relase from USCIS:

USCIS Streamlines Process for Refugee Employment Authorization Documents
Release Date
03/12/2024
USCIS has begun implementing a streamlined process for Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, to provide Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) more efficiently to eligible refugees after they are admitted into the United States. This streamlined process shortens the wait time for an EAD to approximately 30 days instead of several months. All individuals admitted into the United States as refugees on or after Dec. 10, 2023, will receive EADs pursuant to this new process.

Could this in any form help relieve the DACA Renewal backlog?

It will depend on how much resource this frees up
