From The Republic

Trump's Surprising Promise to Immigrants Quickly Retracted by Campaign
Donald Trump made a shocking pledge to help international students—only for his campaign to immediately add some caveats.

If Trump was serious, it would open up citizenship possibilities to a large number of foreigners—there were about one million international students in the United States in 2022, for example. But Trump’s campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, walked back the plan hours later, issuing a statement to The New York Times that it would include an “aggressive vetting process,” excluding “all communists, radical Islamists, Hamas supporters, America haters and public charges.” She added that the plan would only include the “most skilled graduates who can make significant contributions to America.”
Walked back?

Just says they gonna do some vetting.

That is not walking back.

Yeah,I agree; they did not retract the statement but added conditions. I think this might be part of a larger immigration bill that all the presidents push in their first months in office. We are going to see immigration cuts, stricter enforcement, border wall funding, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
Who really knows what they have planned.

“Some vetting “ is very different than “extreme vetting “ which is what the campaign is saying.”anyone with the radical left “ ..like that’s so arbitrary, I am pro choice and pro LGTBTQ…does that make me leftist radical.

But point taken, technically the campaign did not retract the green cards for graduates, and you are right who knows what they actually have planned. But, and a big but for me, Project 2025 and all the statements regarding mass deportations and such gives me a pretty good idea of what they’re planning. IMO.

I wish democrats had done something similar after milking immigrants for votes for so long. Useless “parole in place” , “fortify daca” are meaningless or helps very few.

Same thing, who gives a shit? The party that wants a smaller government and less regulations in our lives sure does love interfering with people's personal decisions.
Abort away!
