Miller + Homan is going to be quite a combo.

Obama gave the man a presidential rank award... the man was really good at deporting a lot of people.

They're not fucking kidding this time.

My gut feeling is that we are going to be okay. I’m not worried and we may just get a bill with a path of adjustment for us as a compromise since Republicans have control of Congress and presidency.

means nothing at all. there needs to be compromise on both sides. he is incapable of doing anything without Trump's blessing.

exactly, democrats are done. if they dont compromise for immigration reform they are going deeper in the hole. even if they do, i know at least myself is going to vote republican for the rest of my life if republicans actually do get it done.

I'm a permanent resident. I'll be fine, or at least as fine as anyone heading into the second Trump slump can be. You on the other hand? Best case scenario you'll be stuck in front of home depot, worst case scenario straight to Brazil.

We will be fine due to Trump's amazing ineptitude. Obama deported more people. Obama was a compassionate person who was not even trying too hard to deport people. Think about that. Trump will surround himself yet again with mostly useless people, some of them evil, but mostly useless. The American government is a gigantic bureaucratic machine. You need to follow a million rules and protocols and do things properly or you will be hit with 100000 lawsuits. The mostly crazy people he is hiring will hire other crazy useless people to deal with the bureaucracy, which will result in failed efforts. Will they try? Yes. Will they succeed? Maybe 20% of the time. The man couldn't even end DACA properly. He failed at the Supreme Court with DACA because he couldn't even end it properly. He had hundreds of people working for him to end it, and they couldn't even do it properly. Most of the good Republican operatives remember that when Trump left office last time, they couldn't get hired anywhere. They will remember and try to stick with more neutral Republican jobs. Because effective workers are not stupid. This is what will happen instead. Trump will do a big publicity stunt type of thing like putting a child inside a cage at the border (like before) plus a suped up Muslim ban. There will be lots of reporting, pictures, clutched pearls, omg look at the kids in a cage! And that image will give him enough cover. That and they will deport any convicted criminal that was both going to get deported anyway plus was dumb enough to give their address to USCIS. And this all will become background noise once the price of groceries and household items go up because of greed inflation and tariffs. Why are my eggs 10 dollars again? Why is this simple desk 600 when last year it was 150? Those questions will let deportation efforts fizzle away.

I will find it unbelievable if Repubs don't push to pass their CIR, with the Democrats getting some of their stuff also like legalization pathway etc.

They have the chance to pull off a Reagan 2.0

It would be political malpractice to let these 2 years go by without sealing the deal.

Unless they try and Democrats are like nope...they want the win.

Good luck with that strategy...smh...
