They are manipulating data on google to show deportation numbers to be high but its really been under 1k a day.

because they ran out of space, wait for next month when GITMO and el salvador is fully operational.

DHS works in waves, first wave is criminals and deportation orders, then the fun begins when raid season starts midyear there after.

One cannot have a criminal record and hold DACA due to Good Moral Character requirements. It is strange a DACA holder was picked up after a removal hearing by DHS officers.

The most curious thing is Deferred Action is technically discretionary. So might wanna watch this closely.

TIL I learned I was a hardened criminal at age 11.

Dude's a teacher, you won't get far in that profession with a criminal record because "would anyone think of the children" has been the favorite drum to beat of the local puritans. Also yeah DACA moral character requirements as Ianus pointed out.

It could be a dozen different things. Could be old proceedings reopened to get AOS or an I-601A. Could've ended up in there on purpose to try and get COR.

Like only thing that Deferred Action does is just defers removal, i.e. the government chooses not to toss you out right now. Now, ICE as a matter of policy wouldn't initiate removal proceedings and EOIR wouldn't order removal if you were already in them (either you'd get admin closure or just have to keep coming in for master hearings), but realistically they both can do that. Now they aren't supposed to actually physically remove you until the DA is gone but if they do then what would you do? You wouldn't even get far with a petition for review because in order to get anywhere with that you'd need to be eligible to do something about your lack of status that an improper deportation deprived you off, they won't let you back in just for DACA.

So the question is, did he had Daca right until he didn’t? Because now I’m thinking he was detained at an ice raid. He showed them his EAD, ice see c33. They take him in, because DACA is discretionary. They ask him how he came to the USA. He either says visa overstay or border crosser, ice cancels his DACA, or he had a prior removal order. He’s given an immigration hearing, and because he no longer has DA, he can be deported

Hernandez-Mats, however, did confirm that one teacher has been detained after going to a court hearing.

“I can tell you there was a teacher at one of our schools that went to an (immigration court) hearing and he was detained,” she said. “He is probably going to be deported. He was documented at one point, and we know as laws change, people’s immigration status changes. A school where they now do not have their science teacher and kids are thinking if it can happen to my science teacher, what does it mean about me?”

Hernandez-Mats also stated he was a DACA-recipient.

So he went for an hearing, he had documents at one point, but he's also a DACA recipient.

Ugh, so much questions to this story.

If you're on valid DACA, you don't go to no immigration hearing.

This person absolutely did something criminal to have their DACA canceled.
