Democrats were aware of this outcome and played a role in it. Biden was revealed to have initiated the construction of new detention facilities, paving the way for more deportations.
Why did the Democrats neglect to include protections for Dreamers when they approved the tough Laken Riley Act? Why did Gallegos and Fetterman dodge questions about Dreamers when confronted by the media?
In my opinion, Democrats are equally responsible for the current situation. The only distinction is that they conduct their deceptive actions in secret. They may promise not to deport you, but their actions behind closed doors suggest otherwise.

Democrats neglected to include protections because they simply didn't have the votes to offer up any meaningful opposition. Simply not permitted to offer up any amendments.
Gallegos was caught unawares and he solely is to blame for Laken Riley bill. It was pretty obvious he didn't read it and was unaware of its content and or he is in a vulnerable race/district etc.
I think Democrats are the best we have, because the other team is queuing up the Alien Enemies act, and has never, not once, brought up the dream act not even in a token announcement. Though to be fair, some republicans, the good ones with brains and courage, did bring up things in partnership with democrats under better times.
