Cloture

The cloture rule–Rule 22–is the only formal procedure that Senate rules provide for breaking a filibuster. A filibuster is an attempt to block or delay Senate action on a bill or other matter. Under cloture, the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours of debate.

no. merely on the calender

Did I miss something? I thought it was already placed on the legislative calendar from late last week's news.
It was on calendar that they will bring it up for a vote on whether to put it on the "officaial calendar " that they will have a debate on it. if the debate concludes then it comes to our judgment day...

Because of Rule 14, we have to end debate on starting debate on the bill. Then we'll need another cloture motion to end debate and proceed to a vote.

Yeah, there should be a massive call effort tonight & tomorrow so we can actually get those 60 votes for all the necessary procedures that Dream act faces.

During the debate I don't know what kind of amendment should we be expecting, maybe something like "if you want your visa you have to report your illegal parents" from Sessions.

I could see that happening...but I'm sure it won't pass.

QUESTION: Does anyone know how many votes are needed to pass the cloture motion?
