I'm only impressed by amounts big enough to buy a house. Anything else is groceries and car payments. It's a pretty reasonable bar to meet, I think.

Full time trader here
Got a 180% shorting spx from Friday (1DTE) and sold Monday open
Vix looks like it bottomed so might do another 1DTE put Thursday into Friday (maybe 2DTE)

Good job!

I won't pretend that DTE options are my game. It is not.

It is never about the certain dollar amount.

It is about Proven Consistency.

If you can earn $6k with limited drawdown like I have,

$60k, $600k, $6m etc is just matter of scaling up!

And becoming comfy with huge numbers.

If you continue your excellent progress you could just buy residency in the US, or better yet, buy residency in various other nations. It really does become your oyster at that point.

One Crucial thing I learned about trading is that it has effects that are very akin to effects of drugs

That is why 95% of people fail

It is Prediction Error Dopamine Crash.

Even the best setups/strategy will have losing streaks

That will cause massive dopamine crash due to prediction error.

Now to feel good again bad traders will try to chase dopamine and go on huge tilts that cause them to lose even more. That is why most trading accounts blow up.

That is just like how drug addicts chase another high and eventually end up dead.

This is a crucial insight that shows trading is very hard neurochemically. Not for the weak-minded at all.

Personally, I don't like the market risk. Technically the market is being held up entirely by AI hype because everyone else is neutral or down. This is bad news for basically everyone. Who is funding their own destruction by AI? Me apparently. These billionaires are acting like they'll just give you the benefits of AI out of the kindness of their hearts. Yeah right. And santa is real too.

How would having such opinion help you make money?!

The way I trade: intraday scalping, it certainly won't help!

If it doesn't help you make money, it is bullchit.
