Hi everybody!

I am not even going to ask you how you are, I already know. lol, I haven't really been and replaying or posting, I have been very busy with college (and calling of course) I have been coming though everyday. Since the first time I came to DAP, I noticed who the hard workers were. I just wanted to thank you for all the things you did for the Dream Act. Unfortunately, it did not pass (duh!) I admire some of you guys because you have been here, coping with all the things that ALIPAC come and says to us. I really couldn’t stand it and stop reading other posts that were not about calling.

I wanted to share with all you my new plans. Las year, I was accepted to the Madrid campus of Saint Louis University. I couldn’t go because even though I applied for a student loan, I needed to be legal to get the check. But they told me that since I was accepted since I graduated from high school, I could still go next fall (0 if I took certain courses and passed them with certain grades. So what I’m going to do is this: I am going to go back to my country and get a visa to go to Spain, when I’m there I am going to apply for a student loan (with the same company that denied me the money for not being legal) and I’m going to study there, and hopefully I’m going to graduate with good grades. I’m not quitting, on the contrary, I will actually be working to some day be able to help people who are going through this.

What are YOUR plans now that DA is dead until some years?

Hey... I'm happy for you =).

Maybe you can help me out with something... like most people here, I came under my mom's worker visa and overstayed. Can I get an internal student visa?? Is that possible? And get an adjustment of status to a work visa once I graduate? I researched the internet and the only way to get an adjustment is through marriage (no way!) and through work... however, the sites didn't address the illegal aliens (who were screened to come here legally) who already live here. Any thoughts on this?

Looks like you can't. :/ Look here: http://www.immspec.com/adjustment-of-status.htm. You can't adjust status from a non immigrant visa if you have been out of status.

yeah you can't, if it was that easy, many here would have done it already. and not even trhough marriage cause you would have to go back to ur country and wait there to see if they accept you application.

See, the way i did it is kinda risky, because once I'm out of the U.S., i can't come back, unless i jump the border (which is not going to happen again) or i get a visa back in my country (which is not going to happend either) So first you have to apply to a college while you are in the u.s and make sure the country you want to move to doesn't have tough immigration rules or that it is easy to get a visa in your country. once you are accepted to that university make do a research on how to finance your education (it could be a scholarship, or a student loan FROM THAT COUNTRY) thats the hardest part.
This does not give you a U.S status, you may apply for a student visa for the country u want to move to. if you want to know a little bit more, pm me.
