It failed as a standalone, I was just wondering if they could attach it to anything else in the next year. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

next year is election year...Its too divisive of an issue to be considered, by either Democrats or Republicans. The House will not even consider it since in a few months all of them will have to answer to their constituents.

Even if it does get attached to something, there will be a few republican bugs, saying "ZOMG NO! THIS IS AMNESTY! IT MUST NOT BE DONE!" And everyone will just nod their heads and they'll just vote it off from whatever thing they tried to attach it too.

it has to do with our economy if the economy is doing well, everyone will be happy, therefore anything is possible, but since the economy is going bad, they started to blame on immigrants for stealing their jobs, suck up all the resource, etc..

yea well not 100% of all tax payers think we're stealing their jobs. only the handful of them who are unhappy about paying taxes. i was just wondering if it can get attached to anything else...

Come to think about it, is Dream an easy visa ? I would say it's every easy to obtain/qualify for dream. In my opnion we should have a stricter reform. there are things to consider:
1. only student that obtained or perusing a master degree or higher are to be considered for student visa.
2. work visa is given to whom are not in school (but must obtain a master degree or higher), but must find a job within a given time frame.
3. pay a fine.

4. military route.
etc..

of course, i agree with you that dream needs to be more strict. maybe dream can be given to those who obtained at least a BA degree in the time frame of 5-6 years.

i think the only way they can bring it back is next year at the dod bill again, and they must put mandatory military service at this point if they did that i wouldn't mind

we are facing a dilemma here, that's compassion VS. skilled labor.
compassion always put you in the group of minority always think that you deserve something.
skilled labors, are more self-evident that is, we, are the people that has the skill to benefit this country....

therefore we must choose one..

1. Honestly 4 years sounds good or a Masters or PhD would be fine
2. I don't agree with you there.. gotta work to make 1 work.
3. A fine is reasonable so it justifies the money that would be spent on our paperwork and labor.
