Domineci voted yes at first and then changed his vote at the end i don't know why, Byrd also voted no we had 11 republicans voting aye if those democrats would've not flip flopped we had 60 in the bag they betrayed Durbin, that man was about to cry when he said "don't ask me next week for talent outside the U.S when we have this great talent here". God bless that man

I appreciate Durbin's efforts so much, I felt the only reason he was going to bring it up was because the votes were there, but senators flip flop at the last minute, I know I already said this but: Don't forget to hand write a thank you letter to Durbin.

I heard that Bush said he was going to veto it anyways, if it passed. So.. we shouldn't worry just about the votes.

No, the whitehouse just spoke out against it. I don't think Bush would have vetoed it though.

He never said he was going to veto it!!! Nobody knew what the final bill would have looked like after ammendments.

EXACTLY ! We are all tied to this topic, advocate for it, read every damn thing about it, --- Yet all Sessions has to do is say "the president will veto" and suddenly it is on-line everywhere and we all believe it ! This is what he did with every fing aspect of the bill. They will lie and exaggerate in every conceivable way about every conceivable topic and we just go...." oh if you say so, we believe you, how can we bow down to you more and appease you......" Youcan't appease them and whatever you come up with they will make up a bunch of lies about that ........................................arrrrgghhhh

as far as i know, Bush was disappointed with the guest worker program that failed in summer, according to him, anything is better than the status quo, i think thats a quote too. So i really doubt it wouldve been vetoed, tbh
