if your grades are looking like that, then you should get into a lot of the top schools, depending on what you want to major in?
Nope, FL doesn't offer in-state.

I wish...sigh.

Once again the truth is you never broke the law. Only people who break laws are illegal. Undocumented is not too bad. But to be more accurate. You were brought here without your consent ( in a severe sense kidnapped from your birth of origin without any say in the mattter) You are American Refugee Children. You need humanitarian consideration and assylum. Never be ashamed of your situation. Never use the word illegal. I am not sure I like undocumented, it kind of hints of something wrong. You can't just say it in one word. I would say "I was brought here without my consent as a minor and I am being denied status".

First off, I've been a long time member of DAP, so don't doubt me.

Sorry if my use of the term offended you. Frankly, undocumented or illegal, we're being effed in the A.

What's it matter what we're called?

But anyhow Lets change the meaning of the word.
My goodness why are we getting so mad over what they call us? The fact of the matter is, we're not supposed to be here and that makes us illegal. That's what the law says. But now that we are here and are caught in the middle of injustice, we should try to be humble and convince nice lawmakers to help us. Don't go around demanding things like "stop using the word illegal". You know, not everybody is undocumented. I came here legally but overstayed and that makes me illegal, not undocumented.

Hey Dan..May I ask, what are you interested in studying? I know the tension that you're going through because I faced the same obstacle when it was time for me to apply to colleges. I'm currently attending Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. I didn't have any problems enrolling after I was accepted. However, with your grades, you should definitely try some better and more competitive colleges such as the Ivy leagues. You should be fine as long as you apply to the private colleges. Good luck!

if you have the money, the possibilities are endless. pretty much all private universities will accept you.
if you don't have the money, you're gonna have to attend the community college nearest you (hope and pray they accept undocumented students).

your or someone you trust should go to the international office of w/e college you're interested in and ask them. You can try doing it over the phone too i guess if you're not comfortable showing up there.

to elmichoacano: What's wrong with the term "black"? So we shouldn't call people "white"? Either?

Omegantlin: Actually, you are the idiot. The simple fact that we are here against the laws of the land makes us "illegal". Does not matter how we got here. Undocumented is a term that lefties came up with to ease the impact of the word. No matter how much you fight it we are illegal. The only word I have a problem with is "alien".

Another thing, if people stopped demanding things, maybe we could get something passed.

Dan, try this. Apply to public universities in your state. Apply to some safety private colleges, some privates colleges that you have a good chance of getting into, and some privates colleges that are out of reach (based on your academic merit). Do this and you're set. If you get into a private college you want to go to, then explain your situation. If financial aid doesn't cover the costs, then consider taking out loans with citizen co-signers. If you don't want to do that, then you always have your public universities.

This is a lot better than wondering whether specific colleges will take you or not. Few colleges will reject your application because you are undocumented. Trust me, college admissions offices know that some stellar and high achieving students are undocumented. Admission officers are very smart people, who know that academic achievement and potential isn't determined by immigration status.

This is also a lot easier than asking us about specific colleges. Universities don't publicize admissions and financial aid policies for undocumented students for obvious reasons. Most of our information comes from experience and word-of-mouth.

Look at Harvard; you wouldn't think they'd accept undocumented students at all yet they do but they don't publicize it. Apply to your colleges based on your merits, you can always explain your situation to the college.
