I think out of all of us dealing with the undocumented status, i think the ones that already have degrees, and still working under the table /low paying jobs suffer the most. I mean i read about people who have teaching credentials and still work as house-maids. and nursing degrees who still work as janitors. so my question to you is, isn't there another country, that you can go to besides Canada, so you can make use of your degree, or would you rather wait for dream act or CIR to pass?

I have my B.A. in American History. I can't see myself using that anywhere else. I have a pretty nice office job compared to other DREAMies, so I'm inclined to wait it out as I have all my friends and family here and I couldn't bear (no pun intended) to have the possibility of not seeing them for at least ten years if i left the country and that ten year ban hit.

I am in Osito's same situation. I will have a BA in Classics... what on earth am I going to do with this in mexico? At least here I can go on to grad school and train to teach ESL.

Also the idea of exile for ten years is not very appealing to me. If I had to do that I just wouldnt be able to live with myself...

I can work anywhere in Europe tomorrow. I have well over the required points needed to get a skilled worker visa to Canada.

This is my home. I'm a New Yorker. I'm not going anywhere.

I will have a BA in Communication and Global and International Studies this June. After all of my hard week, to leave now would seem like defeat. I'll be leaving to DC and interning at a news station for 3 months. As a reporter, i'll have a press pass and an opportunity to directly interview many of our senators and representatives. I am undocumented; no ID, no work permit, but I will make it work. As a dreamer, you constantly look for alternative routes. You're forced to go with plan B's, to look for the cracked door, and to make it work. I know the moral of our group has gone down, but you can't give up. No matter how hard and frustrating it may seem, you cannot surrender. Regardless of what side of the border (or world) you were born in, we dreamies are American in heart and spirit. I am certainly not going anywhere.

I am a year and a half away from graduating and I am thinking about the same things too!

I've already had to turn down a few job offers and I imagine I will have to turn some more down in the coming year.

Unfortunately, just like many of your my first job out of college is probably not going to be anything glamorous. However, I too plan on creating my own path to prosperity.

My ultimate plan is to go into business on my own, so once getting any sort of job, I will save every bit that I can and use that money as capital to fund whatever business I start.

I my-self will be graduating with BA in Global Studies with emphasis on economics on May 2009, I have been weighing my options on what to do after graduation, and I would encourage all of us to stay and wait this out, Dream will pass, I my-self has had to take non-paying interns where they did not require a SSN and a background check because of my status. It was hard when all of my friends made anywhere from $1,000 to 10,000 in their summer interns. However, I truly believe that this conundrums that we endure just makes us stronger beings, in my opinion I will stay here I lived here since I was five and America is my home and country, after graduating I want to go on to to graduate school, but I don't know if I will be able afford it. I have a plan B in the works anyway, we just have to keep on waiting this out and voicing our concerns to politicians!!!!!!

I have 2.2-3 years to go for legalization (without Dream) and have my MA... I would rather wait it out or get another degree and then get the hell out of here for a while to actually feel 'free' whatever that means.

But yes, I think most of us that can get into Canada, Australia etc. prefer to wait, because this is our home and we have our family, friends here. Now if the wait was more than 5 years... That is another matter.
