obviously using a DL doesn't cause any problems... using an unexpired DL or state ID is the best way to go if you have it... that's what citizens use and they have no problems. it's the passports and other IDs that everyone is worried about. i'm glad that passports do work for the most part

I don't blame you one bit. But really - I don't really know how to interpret what happened there. I thought I stayed calm but my friends could "tell" I was worried. Needless to say, I'm grateful things worked out.

hrvatica, I used my Polish passport.

Random note: Apparently you can no longer use a foreign passport in Huntington Beach, CA to purchase alcohol since they contain no physical description. The waitress took my passport (scary) to the manager and told me if I could pronounce "Rzeczpospolita Polska" - all was well. Lucky me... lol.

^HAHA....Polish...why not just revert to the Latin roots and keep Res publica Polonia? It would make it easier for everybody.

BTW, Sparklepouf, if your passport isn't that new you should consider exchanging it for the new EU passports that are the same as all the other EU passports. Maybe it won't raise as many eyebrows.

^I agree with that. My mom's sister who's in the same situation used her EU passport at the Miami International Airport to go to JFK and she had no problems at all.

Actually, everyone thought it looked cool XD lol.

HAHAAAAAAHA CITI! That was hard core man. I ought to call ICE on you right now just because you had the guts to mess around with them like this, lol. I imagine it was hard to accept further inspection from some huge guy just for the sake of giving us a report.

I'm glad everything worked out. I think I would personally freak out towards the end there. You're very right about acting cool. People legitimately lose their IDs or forget to bring them. If you act like you know you're getting on that flight anyway it gives you that self confidence to act normal. These screeners are (supposedly) trained to recognize nervous people.

Yeah, TSA has Behavior Detection Officers (BDOs) to detect nervous people.

Leave it up to the federal government to spend millions of dollars to create arcane job positions, just for the sake of having retarded names.

^LOL I seriously wonder how many of those people are illegals. Didn't they recently find a few dozen people in Chicago and New York who were illegal yet were working in secure areas of the airport? Oh and look at that, they didn't blow up planes first chance they got.

It would be hilarious if an illegal guy checks for IDs at the airport.
