If you want to go to university don't skip a semester of HS. Look, Dream will probably pass in the year you graduate, 2009. If it doesn't, then take a year off of school, or just take one class at a time as much as you can afford.

You have to be out of your mind if you think staying another year is going to make things easier... you have to learn to move on with your life without beind dependent of other people and especially because they are friends not family, you cant attach yourself to them because believe me they are going to move on with their lives... Try enrolling first in a community college and probably that will make things a little bit easier at first, once you start soon you will adjust to your new routine and im pretty sure you will make new friends... still keep your other friends close because you will need a lot of support during your changes, but always keep in mind that you will be fine and please be positive and everything will be fine...

It's not a good idea. Being illegal is just your excuse. If anything, your status should motivate you to do well in school and graduate.

Friends will come and go. I don't talk to anyone from high school except two people. You should try to do your best after high school. Start at a community college till that time comes focus on coming out graduating top 10% of your class.

This is a really bad idea man.

Do the best you can that is the least we can do in this situation. There is no sense in slowing yourself down on purpose. There are already a thousand factors doing that to us, do not do it to yourself.

flunking on purpose, is not the answer. do what you can to get ahead in life, your a dreamie right?. then you should know, that opportunities are hard to come by as is, you are going to make it even harder on yourself. do the right thing, graduate, go to college, do whatever you can, do as much as you can till you get your status fixed.

You're willing to make such a big sacrifice for your friends and yet none of them are good enough friends for you to be able to actually talk to them about this?

Friends will come and go, chances are after high-school you'll only have limited contact with them anyways UNLESS you happen to be going to college with them?

What state do you live in? Why would you not be able to go to college with these same friends? There are plenty of scholarships available for you to be able to accomplish LOTS of things even with your not so fun status.

I'd definitely recommend you go talk with a school counselor or even guidance counselor to see what is out there... maybe if you'd rather something much more confidential then the school social worker or others withing the local community.

Good to see you are thinking this through rather than just making a pretty big decision on your own and without talking to others.

Now that's crazy thinking! You have to prove that we undocumented people are here to improve our lives. If you do this, how are you going to look? I'll tell you. Like someone who can give up easily. You need to work hard and get good grades. That's what the Dream is about.

When I was in high school I just wanted to stay there forever, I had so much fun but I never ever even thought about blowing off a year just for the heck of it. The real reason why you might not want to graduate is because you're afraid to face the world, but trust me, you gotta do it sooner or later anyway, so just move on.
