anyways, tell your BF to look into the first time home buyer program. my sister used that to get a really low interest rate. i think they also help with down payment or something. i don't really remember. this was about 3 years ago (wow. doesn't feel that long). i'm sure there's something he can take advantage of.

btw, i cannot believe how cheap you're getting that kind of house. ridiculous.

PS2: UCF accepts undocumented students?
Thanks for the info! I'll DEFINITELY tell him to check that out. My brother's ex-girlfriend used that program to buy her own home but, since it was so far back, I guess I thought that program had expired.

Yeah, I know. If anyone in FL is planning on buying a home [or anyone anywhere in the country for that matter], go directly to Orlando. They have some amazing deals on homes. The house we're buying is actually on the higher end of the homes we looked at. There was this GORGEOUS condo that had two bedrooms, an inside jacuzzi with a beautiful view, in a brand-new gated community, and all situated in 1289~ square feet at $120,000. If it were up to me, I would've pounced on that one. But SOMEONE wanted a two-story home. Sigh...men. LOL

Oh, BTW, to my knowledge, UCF doesn't accept undocumented students. I was told that there was no way I could enroll without an F-1 or a green card [or conditional green card]. Valencia Community College is the same way. However, if you can move, I do know for a FACT that FIU allows you to enroll in their bachelor's programs. Miami-Dade College and Broward Community College also allow undocumented students to enroll in their Honors Programs and cover a huge chunk of out-of-state tuition. My BF's cousin, also a DREAMie, just enrolled at BCC and only has to pay about $250 out of pocket. Then again she was #5 in her class [I'm not jealous or anything...not at all ]. If you got the grades, a lot of the colleges in South FL are willing to work with you.

Oh, and just a note [in case any FL DREAMie is reading]: From what I know, UF does NOT allow undocumented students to enroll either. I got accepted three times [once my senior year, for Fall '07, and for Spring '08] and all three times they have turned me away after I couldn't prove I was here legally. I have heard of things working out differently [one of my brother's friends actually got IN-STATE tuition at UF...then again, this was in '98 =/ ], but I do believe this is their most recent policy.

About the immigration people thinking it's a sham marriage... I doubt that will happen. You're still in school and you plan on living in that house after you get married. It's totally legit. I don't think you have anything to worry about there. Besides, if they ask personal questions, I'm sure you'll be able to answer them since you've been with your guy for a while and you know him pretty well. Congrats again!
LOL at the bolded part. Rahman is the reason I don't answer any questions anymore...he puts me to shame! Hahaha!

Thanks so much for the congratulations! It really means a lot to me.... I guess I was just being overly paranoid about the immigration situation...a lot of people that I know through my parents have actually gotten deported because of USCIS believing their marriage was a sham...and, in at least two of those cases, it wasn't. =/....I really wish I wouldn't have to put up with this, especially since the first year of marriage is tough enough without having to deal with government bureaucracy but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Thanks again for your well-wishes! And I know you're not being an opportunist like ping-pong...LOL j/k

ehh. i wish my school's honors college was as good. i get some money, but it's practically nothing compared to tuition costs.

i'm just pissed i didn't try to apply to the better private schools that basically pay for your tuition if you're accepted right out of high school (vandy comes to mind). then again, i really don't know if my grades were that good.

and this thing about ucf not accepting undocumented students sucks. what am i supposed to do after i finish CC? damn.
