I think they might be starting to randomly go on those long distance buses and ask for documents now.
I know one guy who was heading back to Mexico on a Greyhound for his petition interview was caught and deported, and I read something a couple of weeks ago about somebody on a train being caught in deported...of course, in both cases they were near the boder, one near Mexico and one near Canada.

-Yea i should know this, someone in my family works for TSA, its just basic procedure, and they're policies are changing every so often b/c its still a relatively new branch of gov't. I know sometimes that they may seem like assholes, but signs specifically say No liquids/beverages can be brought on. and you got dumbies, that come up to TSA, and hold up a cup of starbucks, and ask is this a liquid? i mean c'mon, seriously.

--for the record here is my actual experience with the office of michael j. Gurfinkel, just in case, anyone plans on going to him for advice (NY, LA, SF area) I paid 300$, back in 2004, for a consultation. I drove 2 hrs to his SF office, waited another 2hrs, b/c his paralegal was late. after 45 min, He basically told me that I had two, options. Get married, and he would be willing to do a "fixed marriage" for 20k, or to try contesting my case in immigration court. Since i've been here for so long, and i haven't done anything wrong. only bad thing about it is if i lose the case, i get deported!!..I was like ok, thats it, we left, what a terrible experience! I wouldn't recommend him to anyone, he does a lot of immigration cases for filipinos, but its mostly for ones who have money to pay, he advertises all over, but its him with pictures of filipino celebs lol.

-the term TNT, was mentioned in the article i dont know how many on here are filipino, but i am lol, and its an abbreviation for, "Tago'-Nang-Tago'" meaning, person who keeps hiding, b/c well, he has no documents.

We really rely on the kindness of strangers in our position sometimes.
I think about this all the time and it makes my heart pound. I thank God every day that my journey didn't end there, and that there are still good people in the world. I don't think I exhaled until I made it to my destination. Despite this "close call," I can't say with certainty that I would avoid flying again completely (at least until true motions are made with Real ID). I think I've just resigned myself to tempting fate. I'm begining to trust the fact that wherever life takes us, we will be ok. We've persevered - we will be rewarded eventually - wherever that is.

omg if he offered to help you with a fixed marriage, then yea you shouldnt trust him. A real lawyer would never put his license at risk.

and he was cheating u! a fixed marriage now a day would cost u around 10k not 20!

yep, a douche he is, honestly, and as sad as it may seem, i wouldn't trust a lot of the filipino immigration lawyers lol. My cousin, in LA, just got a job sponsorship as a nurse, 6 mos, after her visa expired. and got her green card within 2 mos after... the lawyer was Caucasian by the way.

yea, i mean it could even go down to 8k, his law firm, campaigns around saying he is the "lawyer to the stars", meaning yea he could charge that much, its all the same process to me.

That sucks! Sucks I say! Does this happen in every part of the country? Or just parts where ICE thinks there are illegals there?

I think I feel the same way. Sometimes I don't think I even care anymore. Not to say I want to get caught or go back but I am just tired of living in fear. However,if I get caught I will just chain myself to a pole or something. Lol

It must have been a Xenophobic or a real nosy officer. My Cousin just recently flew with a Mexican Passport with no U.S visa and got through with no problems
I've also flown several times in the past when my DL was still valid.

I Think it all comes down to as how foreign or "Wetback"(Sarcasm) you look that could cause a TSA agent to bring in CBP/ICE and all it really is a Classic case of racial/ethnic profiling. Sad but true
