As u know the bipartisian bill that was passed will give certain amount of money to certain families. However i was wondering who will score more political points and which party will benefit. Will all this talk of recession and both parties pres. nominees are starting to talk about this issue. Some analyst are calling this years elections a repeat if u will of the 1992 presidential elections when bill clinton won. Perhaps history will repeat itself when now another clinton winning the presidency which i hope. However, others are saying that rommney will be the beneficiary because of his experience with dealing with turning aroung broken companies or even the olympics.

P.S. sorry if this topic was meant to be in the offtopic just saw perhaps it was relevant :P.

Yea, most political strategists agree that Romney probably has the best experience and credentials in both party nominations when it comes to the issue of the economy. But since it's the primaries, I don't think any party is scoring points on the economy necessarily. Just yesterday, there was the broad bipartisan economic stimulus plan that is suppose to pass through and come into effect in May-June. The economy is more of an issue between candidates of the same party who are trying to win the nomination. Eventually though, democrats and republicans are gonna duke it out to win public support for their own economic strategies.

I think people are wrong to think that just because someone ran a businesss they will be good at running the economy. The two are infinitely different because a president doesn't make decisions on how many Dr. Peppers he needs to stock in his store. So what if Romney "ran" (I'm not even sure what his exact involvement was) a business? He's just another lawyer who thinks MBAs somehow top MAs of Economics in national and international matters.

Quite frankly I want a president who knows little about economics so that he depends on actual advisers to make these decisions. Not one of those candidates is informed enough in the field to make any serious decisions. It's seriously the equivalent of expecting a bank teller to write theoretical models of behavioral finance.

McCain at least said he'll depend on experts because he doesn't know ENOUGH and the media of course twisted this into "I don't know economics".

As far as the tax rebates go, they'll benefit the Republicans because people are gonna be too happy about getting $600 to care that the deficit will worsen. Then the next president will have to worry about that.
