Well Tennessee succeeded in starving me out, I had to move to IL. to live with my GF. My question however is this, say Obama does win the presidency, and doesn't get iced (Jah forbid), I have actually been praying for this man to win and that no ill will comes to him, but who knows there could be some cloak n dagger stuff going on behind the scenes (Kennedy- rest his soul) But nehow how would I go about signing up for the act, Would a public announcement be made and would I just go to the nearest INS establishment and get the process started???

INS? Dude, have you been living in a cave? It's USCIS now.

Also, if you keep updated with your stuff, you should be able to know when something passes.

I hope you aren't one of the millions of Dreamies who are just waiting the Act to fall from the sky.

Hey I appreciate the reply but to be honest I just found out about the act maybe 2 months ago- and I guess I have just been waiting to get the announcement that it passes.

To clarify my question- do I as an out of status immigrant, need to register for the conditional residency beforehand- or wait for the bill to be passed and then make a move???

You wait until the bill passes. I'm a little surprised of how much information you lack. You should really look into familiarizing yourself for the sake of your future and possibly your girlfriends future as well.

I guess asking questions here is a decent start, but really look up the DREAM Act, and DEFINATELY be here when we're ready to launch more calling campaigns and other sorts of things to help it pass.

Dude you can't apply for anything yet. There is no process or anything that would benefit you right now. You have to wait till DREAM Act passes before you can do anything. Even after the bill passes you can't do anything until DHS can develop regulations, paperwork and processes in order to implement the bill. That takes about 3-6 months. Sit tight and don't get arrested.

Take a look at the taking action section and the rest of the forum, hopefully you'll know exactly when Dream passes as you'll be involved in getting it passed.

GL on the new start!
