so yea, i live in a state that does not give dreamies in-state. so im left wit being a part-time student, which is fine wit me. i talked to a counselor at the college i planned on attending and..he said being undocumented was ok. and i still could enroll. unfortunately he was on vacation this week, but i still went to enroll, turns out that, i don't need a ss#, but since there was no visa/I-94 on my passport they said i couldn't apply. (this is a state college btw, guy at the registrars office said, we need to show proof that you came here legally, just in case years down the line, you want to apply for permanent residency?? i was like wtf? he told me to go,to the international center, where out of state/international students apply and they told me the same thing, basically i can't enroll b/c i don't have a visa/I-94) i told them my original passport was lost, and therefore i got a new one, and that my current one doesn't expire until 2011. help me out guys!

How's your effort on finding the paperwork to prove you entered legally going?

Most schools don't do this. They either let everyone attend or only LPRs and Citizens. It's really smart of Nevada Schools to let visa overstays attend. Most visa overstay DREAMers adjust eventually so it's a waste not to let them attend school. It's discriminatory and unfair to EWI DREAMers to say the least but still smart.

That's strange... In CA, dreamies can go to college without any difficulties. No one cares about status or anything like that. I guess this depends on the state... Maybe should try other colleges to see if you get the same result?

I understand how you feel, sorry to say but seems like you have no other choice. Do you have any copies of your visa and I94 just in case which were lost??

I went through the same thing. I got accepted to a CUNY and when I saw my semesters bill I almost fainted. It was $7000 semester. I went to the registar's office, they told me the same thing, to bring proof if I entered the country legally. Luckily, I still have my passport with a visa and I-94. After showing them that and signing some forms, I was considered an instate student and my bill went down all the way to $2500.

There is no other option bro.

He needs to have attended a school in CA for at least 3 years before graduation, doesn't he? If that's not the case, I'm overpaying...
