Part of the budget deal includes continue funding for CHIP. The problem is on Trump and Republicans eliminating public programs / reducing funding for public programs. It is one of the ugliest things they did. But we can't stop them. Right now, the issue is with DACA blocking the budget bill and a large number of people want a revised budget bill... so many not happy with what's written in there.

GOP SC Sen Graham on DACA/defense spending: To think that our Democratic colleagues are going to give us everything we want on defense & hope one day we’ll deal with the DACA population is a bit unrealistic..I don’t want to put these kids through any more hell
