5 day extension is just forcing all the shutdown talk to happen 5 days from now again... they've had months to talk about DACA/immigration deal, are they really going to hash it out in 5 days??

A 5-day extension would get us very close to the State of the Union.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say.

*If (House) Democrats (along with some House GOP) vote for the 5 day extension and the Freedom Caucus votes against it, the Republicans would undoubtedly be to blame for the shutdown.

Senior WH official says "smoke signals" coming from Capitol Hill are giving WH reason for optimism... citing Donnelly comments that he will vote yes as a "big deal."

Donnelly and Manchin were always yes so that’s not surprising.

Trump just tweeted, sounds like Schumer is giving up on DACA yet again.

Excellent preliminary meeting in Oval with @SenSchumer - working on solutions for Security and our great Military together with @SenateMajLdr McConnell and @SpeakerRyan. Making progress - four week extension would be best!

STATE OF PLAY — There’s a lot of chatter about a short-term (4-5 day) extension. House GOP leadership has been skittish about this extension — and many members don’t like it. @JakeSherman

Dude, chill the hell out. 4-5 Dems always vote conservative. GOP still does not have the votes to prevent a shutdown.
