No 10 day wait for me... I had this week planned out lol I was on a mission to apply and pass for my DL this week. I got off work early Monday to hopefully receive my EAD in the mail-success. Then I went directly to the SSN and hopefully not have to wait the "10 days"- Success. The SSA agent told me my card was verified through DHS and I got a receipt stating I should receive my card within 2 weeks.
Although I didn't ask about a print out, I took a chance today on my day off since I made an appt at the DMV. Waited for about 45 min and took 1 min to get my print out. No questions asked. Success on getting a print out.
Went to the DMV, took my permit Failed first time
, but passed 2nd time 
, so success. Now I have my DMV behind the wheel Thurs... so my mission to get my DL in a week is coming through!

The computer told her that my ead couldn't be verified yet and that She had to resubmit my app 10 business days after my issue date on my ead. Luckily the lady was really nice and told me that she will resubmit my app when the 10 days are up and she will call my cell to let me know when my social sec # is generated so I can go pick up a printout. She was a hispanic lady and she was really nice and she told me that she had processed a few ead's under deffered action lately and that the others had been instantly verified. So I guess the ssa/dhs for some reason put certain of us on 10 day hold while others are instantly verifiable with dhs. Just an FYI. No big deal though at least I now I will get it for sure.

I already had a valid SS# but still waited the 10 days with no problem. However, I have seen people who have an existing valid SS# don't really have to wait the 10 days.
