On the other hand, why can't your wife petition for you if you guys are married?
Im sure you can get a greencard/citizenship that way soon!
maybe he's EWI?

Well, I have a very special case. In 2010, someone stole a car and did a hit and run around the block where I used to lived. Two people saw the person go into our property (not inside the actual house) as he was running away. I was inside my house while all this happened and didn't find out exactly what happened until later. I got out of the house and I was ready to go to the bank, but to my surprise, there were like 15 police officers telling me to put my hands on the hair. The two people who identified me told the cops that I looked like the thief since I was wearing a white tee under my sweater and the thief had a white tee on. They booked me and took my fingerprints, my parents paid a bail to get me out of jail that same night. They gave me a court date to see a judge, I showed up that the date of the court just to be told that they were sorry about the confusion and that I did not habe to see a judge at all after no charges were pressed at all. The gave me a certificate of release explaining that I was only detained and not arrested. To some this up, those damn pigs arrested the wrong guy. I talked to an attorney who told me that I should be fine since I got a letter from the Court stating that they have no criminal record filed in that court.

Arrested for possession of bud @ 19, let go after 24hrs with a DAT (desk appearance ticket), had to stay out of trouble for 6 months and record remained clean.

Arrested for 8 drivers license suspensions. Faced wreckless driving felony & 2nd degree unlicensed operator felony. In the end, attorney had it reduced to a traffic violation & a misdemeanor. Told me I had nothing to worry about during application since it was considered a "minor moving violation".

In 2006 I received a warrant for my arrest. A police officer had stopped me and issued two tickets. On the 30th day, I went to go pay them, but to my surprise, the officer had only filed one. During a camping trip, park rangers asked for ID and that's where they told me about the warrant. They handcuffed me and took me in, spent the night in a cell and was bailed the next morning. During court, the charges were dropped because the officer was not supposed to have issued the tickets separately and because I did pay the ticket that was filed.

I didn't run into issues until earlier this year. I was pulled over, around midnight, for a wrong turn into a one way... pretty much looked like I played chicken with a cop for a few seconds. Couldn't believe my luck. Anyways, I received my first misdemeanor. I was taken in and fingerprinted, then received a call from ICE. I clearly told the Spanish-accented dude, that I was a VISA overstay, that I entered through Tijuana with a passport. The a**hole gives me a felony for US-Illegal entry. So now I have that on my record as well, but my lawyer is currently clearing that up...
