They invite you to go to a window/counter to schedule your appointment at the same location as soon as you pass your written test. However, if you still need to think about when and where you want your appointment to be, schedules are available through the website or the 800 number.
Don't worry if your DL number doesn't show up on the online system for scheduling when you get home, takes a couple of hours.
As you can see my signature, I took by behind-the-wheel test a day after my written test (at a different location). I got this appointment that night via the online system.

It doesn't really matter if it's a 2 year or a 5 year license, you can keep renewing it through online.
