I'm new here. I'm so happy reading about how many of you have already been approved!
I live in California and I sent in my renewal referral a few weeks ago. I have my biometrics appointment tomorrow but I was just wondering if we had to pay for the biometrics.. Like the first time we applied. I remember that the first time we applied we sent in the biometrics fee with our payment to the uscis ..so I was wondering if we had to pay anything for the biometrics this time around.
Thanks guys! And again congrats to all of you that are already approved.
The 465 check u sent with ur packet includes the biometrics fee. R u saying u sent ur packet without the check????

If you want talk about cutting it close, consider this: my EAD was ordered into production today, the same day on which my initial EAD expires. That is about as close as it gets, folks.

My I-821D is still currently listed as in "Initial Review," but the EAD is inextricably tied to deferred action.

Hey guys a little worried here. Package delivered on 10/20. Today is 10/24 and no response. No check cleared. My EAD expires mid-November... Applied late because I had no money till now.

Anyone have similar experienced but got approved for renewal??

Honestly, that sounds like you submitted with insufficient time. I suppose it ultimately depends on service center discretion, but as you are well aware, some service centers are taking a long time to process applications. It took them 123 days to approve my EAD renewal (literally today, the same day my EAD expires). But, I have also seen posts where it took just under a month for final resolution.

Stay positive and pray hard. You never know what will happen.

Has anyone been denied renewal because they submitted too late?

I am not aware of denials for failure to file a "timely" application. And actually, since this is discretionary, there is no official date on which an application is deemed "late." Renewals are not automatic, and therefore, it is up to the applicant to submit a renewal.

Denial and lapse are two different issues. Your periods of deferred action / employment authorization could lapse but your renewal application could subsequently be approved.

No such thing as insufficient time.
USCIS processing is random. They are very inconsistent.

Anyway,
USCIS do not process applications on weekends. They are closed.
You should get a response by the end of this week.

Mine was pretty fast. I called USCIS to expedite it but was told people with DACA cant be expedited,

I did contact my congressman and senator. Though I never got a response from the Senators office, however the congressman rep said she called USCIS to let them know they have a case. Which is me. So i think that worked. Idk, I feel like one of em helped me out.
