anyone else in this scenario?
You should have already received your green card. See link below.

OMG.

So a couple weeks ago, I went to a surgeon's general office for the medical exam. I picked the cheapest one since I didn't know what kind of additional procedures I might need, you know?

The doctor drew blood, did the TB test, and gave me a Hep A vaccine update. I called the following week for blood results, and one of the nurses said it's still pending and that they will call back when the results are in.

Cut to today, when I decided to call them myself to check on my status. It took ten calls, countless holds, and talking to multiple inept people before the nurse in the lab told me the real reason for the delay. My blood sample had clotted, and they couldn't run the tests.

!!! Nobody had called me to tell me anything. She couldn't tell me why I wasn't even notified earlier. Now I have to go back on Saturday morning to give a new sample so they could run the test on the same day. Why didn't they just run it on the same day the first time?!

I'm so tempted to just take all my records with this doctor to a new, more competent one. But my lawyer is almost done with the paperwork, and I just don't want this to delay my application even further. BUT GOOD LORD. Very few things make me as upset as incompetence and bad customer service.

Just did my interview. It was brutal. No approval on the spot, told she would review and I will get a letter in the mail. The lady was extremely cold and non emotional. She was very misdirect with her questions, at one point she asked a question out loud while looking down at a document and I answered and she snapped back if I always speak on behalf of my wife or if I ever let her talk. I just apologized and told her I was not sure who she directed her question to.

She barely asked relationship questions. At the very beginning, she asked for original copies of my wife's birth certificate. We only had a copy because her family could not find the original, and we thought we were done for but thankfully she proceeded. Asked for my wife's driver's license and all my previous EAD's, birth certificate, passport and i-94. She kept the EAD's and the i-94.

Next she started asking rapid fire questions such as asking us for our bank accounts, mentioned that my packet was too big and that she preferred quality over quantity. The reason for the bulk was due to the tax returns for the past 4 years for each of us, some of the tax returns had unnecessary pages that were not needed and just added to the bulk, but honestly I just hit print on Turbotax and downloaded them page for page. Oh well. She mentioned it could take her some months to make her decision because she has to go through the entire packet. Not sure if she was trying to rattle me or see how I would react, but I said sure no problem and apologized for including so many documents.

She went line by line on our bank statements and asked about each expense. Asked why we have separate bank accounts and not just a single joint. My wife said its because she is bad at managing money, which she is, and used the personal account for her allowance and the joint for all our bills, which she does. In my head I wanted to speak out and say its because we already had existing personal accounts prior to creating a joint account so we split our direct deposits across both. Did not say anything though. She kept a copy of our most recent join bank account.

After the bank statements, she asked for car insurance documents with both our names on it.

She then started asking questions about how we met, why we moved in together before getting married, she asked my wife what my religion was and what hers was. She then asked how many people were at our wedding, who was at the wedding. She asked what kind of gifts we received at the wedding, we mentioned cash because we had a small beach wedding and she asked how much cash.

After that she started verifying our information and checking off things on our applications, reminded my wife she would be financially responsible for me for the next 10 years, even if we divorce. She check marked everything, including our names, birth dates, socials, cross referenced it all on each application(i-130, 864, 485, etc) and

She then mentioned she felt she did not have enough proof about us living together, which surprised me because I included our past 3 years worth of lease documents with both our names listed on the contracts. I assumed from here that the AOS packet is not actually reviewed until the interview. Then started closing up the packet and said she would review and I would get a decision via mail.

At this point I was taken aback because she would not take any of the pictures I brought, specifically a trip to Chicago that we had recently and she said because photos can be faked, she cannot take them into account. I then asked her if she would like copies of our recently filed 2016 joint married tax returns and she seemed surprised we already had them completed, and accepted them. Then I asked her if she would like a copy of our lease renewal in the apartment and again surprised about it and accepted it. At this point I felt like if I had not thought to tell her I had these in hand, she would have just let me go. I was expecting her to at least ask me if I had more documents to give her that would help my case, but nope. I had to speak up about it.

Anyway, I felt she was just doing her job and despite my wife calling her a b**** afterward in the car, I felt good about it, but a bit depressed. The experience was definitely jarring. There is nothing contradictory that could complicate things and once she goes through her review I am sure it will be approved. I just hope she doesn't take months to do it like she said during the interview.

Hello, my first time posting but a longtime reader...
As I read your experience It felt just like my interview experience. We had an I-130 interview in 2012 but knew we couldn't do the I485 yet because my husband was not eligible because of his ewi. I am the Citizen and he is currently has Daca. I too had my interview in Tampa and our Immigration Officer was a lady that was not too kind to us. She did approve the I-130 but asked us lots of questions and went line by line with a red pen also. I think it may be the same lady, her initials were L. M.

My husband was able to get advance parole in 2014 and went to see his mom in Mexico after more than 10 years of not seeing her. Sadly she passed away just one month after his visit.

This is our timeline so far:
Sent AOS application 1/18
Receipts Received 1/25
Biometrics letter 2/06
Biometrics done 2/14
now waiting for the next step

Wow!! Your experience was so stressful! Idk why the officer had to troll you like that! But thanks the good Lord you were approved. Congrats and good job on keeping the faith, even after enduring such an intense interview.
