You know, I was thinking the exact same thing lately. It makes total sense since my case isn't approached as a straight forward illegal immigrant that came here illegally. I actually sometimes fantasize that they'll put my I-130 in and i'll be on a better path than DACA. Doubt that would ever happen but DACA is certainly my saving grace. Without it happening, I was thinking about going back to the UK. No sense staying here when I'm unable to work and drive legally. I'm glad I didn't have to move back though. I've been here since 1992 and all my family and friends are here. DACA was my ticket to stay here.

Will turn 22 on December 26th, but I had a lot of paperwork because I have had 4 different visas before illegal status. Oh well, what can u do, we sit, we wait, we drink coffee, we sleep, and repeat until one day u get the mail or Text message.
See that's what I find interesting.

Those who tried to legalize themselves through other channels seem to have their cases delayed the most.

And I thought it should've been a good thing...

Yea, right!? Weird..As you said though, I think when there is a previous immigration history, they probably have to look into it all, therefore taking more time than with someone with no history. I'm hoping that this call from the immigration officer makes them get going with it! Until then, the wait continues.

A little background on my story, I have never had formal legal status in the US but I entered with a tourist visa which expired in August of 2006. I've been illegal since then but before coming here I used to live in a small border city in Mexico and I had a visa ID that USCIS issues to people living in the border which allowed me to go back and forth since I lived right there on the other side of the river. I'm afraid thats why my case is taking so long because although I never stayed permanently until 2006, I've had tourist visas and what not, visiting multiple times since I was a baby.
