They will send him another appointment in about 2 weeks. If he fails the second attempt, he will just have to get police clearences from the last 5 years. This is very common though.

They're supposed to send me a new appointment, but when I called USCIS they said I can walk in with my original appointment notice.

Got my biometrics done today in Brooklyn! And now the waiting game.

My info:

Date Application Sent - 08/17/2012 (to Vermont)
Received date - 8/20/2012
Date acceptance letter of application received - 8/23/2012
Date of I-797 C Notice of Action - 8/28/2012
Date Biometrics scheduled - 9/13/2012
Date of EAD received -

Also, dumb question, but how do I get my info on the signature?

On the left hand side of your screen, under Forum Links, click on Control Panel. Click on settings. Click on edit signature.

Control panel> settings > edit signature

Btw I'm from Queens!!! And I did my biometrics yesterday as a walk in. We have similar timelines.

I did my biometrics on September 11. Since I have eczema on my hands, the skin peeled off so much that I have no fingerprints on 2 of my fingers, which caused me to not be approved for my fingerprints. I have to go back in whenever my fingers have fingerprints and redo my biometrics.
Buy Corn Huskers Lotion, specifically designed for dry skin, so it doesn't peel off anymore. It also works to bring out the print ridges.
