ICE Arrests Green Card Applicants In Lawrence USCIS office
Technically, the woman described in the article had an order of deportation already in place before her petition. I hope that she passed her interview, which should hold up in court in front of an immigration judge.

Even by saying that, I fail to convince myself that this isn't something to start worrying about...

Let's just pray that DACA will protect us through our AOS process.

I agree, but this last piece was more troubling

When asked if the five people arrested had criminal records, an ICE spokesman said two of the people had no criminal record while the other three had "multiple traffic violations."

I wouldn't worry about it, unless you have a removal/deportation order.

Even under Clinton in the 90's, INS had been known to arrest individuals at their biometric's appointments if they were wanted. It is an old tactic. They know the intending immigrant will always show up because it is progress towards a US immigration benefit.

Still, sometimes you gotta look beyond what an article is saying. That lawyer, Doyle, is crafty! I wouldn't be surprised if his client wins her case. You have to ask yourself, why would a lawyer suggest to his client to seek such an immigration benefit.

To me, both the government and this lawyer have their poker face on. The government has played their hand, and now it is the lawyer's turn.

We're in California, as well. Hopefully ICE is friendly.

I think I have seen a post about this or someone asking this same question but now I can't seem to find it.
My question is, for those of you who have successfully completed the AOS process, on the Affadavit of Support, were you able to use your own income you received by working with DACA? I've done some research about it but have read mixed answers. My husband has DACA and he's the sole provider for our family, I stay home with our son. His income is definitely above the poverty guidelines and was made legally but I'm wondering if we can use that or if we'll need a joint sponsor. Any input would be helpful!

Someone who is legally authorized to work can place their income on the Affidavit of support. Those with approved DACA and work authorization are included.
