If in doubt, and you only have those two options, I would suggest flying.
Yes I'm undocumented now because I dropout of school for more than a semester .Do you think flying will be better?I still have valid visa and the school ID just scared if they will want to confirm anything or so.I also plan booking roundtrip just to avoid any questioning.

Booking round trip will not affect the experience through the airport in any way, but it might, maybe, be cheaper, that is it.

Flying might be much safer than taking greyhound or amtrak. If you have a valid visa, there should not be anything to worry about when flying domestically, there are many people here that fly with expired visas or even no visas at all, just show your passport opened to the picture page, the TSA agent is only interested in checking the name matches the ticket and the picture matches the person and the person is not acting suspiciously. However, I have heard of instances where the TSA agent might go beyond their job and actually check for the visa, but your's is not expired yet, so this should not be much to worry about, and it is still very rare. The suggestion that is going around is to avoid international hub airports, in other words, airports that serve other countries and rather go to airports that deal with solely domestic traffic, they also tend to be the cheaper airports.

Thanks buddy I did fly and arrive my destination without any problem nobody asked me any question or so the TSA guy just checked my passport info and check my boarding pass to make sure everything match I'm glad I came to this forum I would have been in trouble if I took Greyhound bus because my itinerary pass through El Paso,Flagstaff and other border towns.

Dangerous, I have heard of people getting detained on their way to Florida on the bus. Take a plane, it is a lot easier and a lot safer.

University ID will not work. They will ask for actual prove that you are legally in the United States.

But in this video, doesn't show that they actually have an student id. The officers asking them for identification and it looks like that they didn't have any identification at all.

Believe me, college IDs are not a valid form of identification. You cannot even show a foreign passport as a valid form of identification when you encounter BP officers. Tell your friend to fly. If he has a passport from his country, then he will MOST LIKELY not have a problem.
