That was the last update for me. Got in the mail in 3 business days.

Strange, my lawyer called me and told me that my EAD had just arrived at their offices.. Funny how I've received all of my receipt notices at my house but my EAD arrived at their office.

Hey guys! I used to have an account here but forgot my password and it wouldn't let me recover it. I just went through DACA to AOS and I wanted to share my process with you guys.

Background info: I am a visa overstay who has been. My SO and I were high school sweethearts who have been married for 5 years this summer.

Timeline:
Case delivered: 7/11/16
Checks cashed: 7/13/16
Biometrics: 8/3/16
Ready to schedule interview: 11/08/16
Interview scheduled: 3/16/17
Interview: 4/19/17
Approved: 4/20/17
Approval mailed: ???
Card in production: ???
Card delivered: ???

I will update this timeline when everything is mailed.

We were super nervous for interview, despite our marriage being real. It's impossible not to be with so much on the line. We spent all week quizzing each other to prepared, and turns out we really know each other very well But the interview was really easy. We waited about 10 minutes in the waiting room, just looking through our pictures and trying to relax a little. So there interview:

Our IO called us in, lead us to the interview room, and told us to have a seat. He asked for our IDs, and then verified our names, told us what we were doing, and asked if we were okay with it. Then the IO had us stand up, take the oath, and asked me for my current passport and the one I entered the country with.

We went through the first form, which was mostly verifying our information. She then asked a few questions:
- Tell me about the wedding
- Who was there?
- Where was it?
- Did you go on a honeymoon?
- Where did you meet?
- Where did you go to college?
- When did you start living together?

Then asked my SO what he did, where he has lived. And then the IO asked me if I was currently working. After that, the IO took some notes, and we moved on to the next form.

The IO asked me my full name again, birthday, and we did all of the yes or no questions, took some quick notes, and then told us that he had what he needed. He told us we could get our IDs back, and then told us he was recommending us for approvals and we should get the official approval notice and green card in the mail in the next few days.

He didn’t ask to see any of our documents or photos but in case anyone is wondering we brought int: 4 Years of Tax Transcripts, Lease, Car insurance, Car Title, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Checking Statement (and cards), Savings Account Statement, Credit Card Statement, Utility Bill, and Library Cards. We also brought a photo album with about 80 photos of us over the years.

MyUSCIS account said we were approved the next day. It doesn't say wether or not my welcome letter has been mailed, or whether or not my GC has gone into production yet.

Overall, the experience was really positive. The IO probably really looked at our file beforehand and saw how long we've been married, living together, and filing taxes together which is probably why he didn't need to see anything else.

I know its impossible to not freak out, but if your marriage is real, you have nothing to worry about! Just prepared your documents, and pictures, and go over your relationship so you guys are on the same page. Sounds silly when you've been together for so long but a great example of this is when my SO and I were quizzing each other and I asked him what he gave me for our first anniversary and he said "oh shit! am i a terrible husband for not getting you anything?" but for our first wedding anniversary he got me a purse. He literally just didn't remember because it was so long ago. Just go over your relationship to catch little stuff like this.

Prepare, pray, tell the truth, and try to relax!! Sorry for the novel, but I wanted to give some peace of mind to those of you going through to process because my hubby and I were nervous; mostly because we self filed and were scared to have messed something up or miss an essential document.

Sending y'all positive vibes!!

How long before you got EAD after they received the application? Or did you not file a 765?

Just got a notice that my EAD has been sent to production. I called my lawyer and asked about the interview and she said that "Chicago Office" is experiencing delays and they are currently processing cases from June 2016. She said that she is expecting my interview to be scheduled for late 2017. SUCKS

I wanted to update my timeline for you guys but my welcome letter hasn't come yet, I guess because I got approved Thursday afternoon and the mail takes a few day. Today my status changed and my GC is in the mail.

The online tracking went from "We will mail you and approval notice" to "your card has been mailed" so here's the best I can update my timeline:

Case delivered: 7/11/16
Checks cashed: 7/13/16
Biometrics: 8/3/16
Ready to schedule interview: 11/08/16
Interview scheduled: 3/16/17
Interview: 4/19/17
Approved: 4/20/17
Approval mailed: ???
Card in production: ???
Card mailed: 4/24
Card delivered: ???
