He did not want to award another legislative victory to the guy who defeated him in 2008. Rubio has personal grudge against Obama as well because the guy literally stole his thunder by signing DACA. These people don't have their constituents interests at heart. They use their own mind and values from their upbringing to direct policy. Senator Sessions is a hardcore southern legislator who will definitely be a big part of this debate. This guy Rubio is just unnecessarily stalling efforts and I feel like he will be the thorn for us. He might even negatively influence some of the senior ranking senators because he's hispanic.
It's Hispanic, but also Cubans(The privledged Immigrants) They*(cubians) haven't had the same experiences as the rest of the Hispanic, to Cubian it's welcomed with Open arms. to the rest it's GO HOME!!!!

I think Rubio is going after a quick win. Dream Act is less controversial than CIR, so it's easier to push through. It's not difficult to advocate for young people who were brought here through no fault of their own, who think, talk, and act like Americans. It's not so easy to relate to a stereotypical Jorge who bus your table at restaurants and can barely speak English.

Why is Rubio the face of the GOP when it comes to immigration? Cubans dont know about the struggle. They only know about the easy adjustment process. If the policy changes for travel (unlikely), I think they should all head to the back of the line, including Mr. Rubio.

Why can't they just make a bill that gives all DACA beneficiaries green cards? We're gonna stay in this country anyways...

It could but I doubt it. It isn't major in the USA and that conflict has been going on for many years.

Right. If they attach this bill to CIR than I am happy. This also means EVERYONE is on board. All CIR bills in the past have had a direct path to USC right?

[mod edit]

Do you happen to read Bush's CIR that failed to pass? I know it's kinda long and boring, but if you read it instead of talking out your behind, you'll see that there's a provision to eliminate current backlog of legal immigrants. The 10-year backlog for highly educated immigrants are supposed to be gone with the stroke of a pen when the quota is adjusted to reflect current demand. For legal immigrants with Master's degree or higher, there isn't going to be a quota.

I hope they print this Bill so I can order a copy to wipe my ass with it.

W-1, W-2, W-3, WTFFFFFF!!!

They're trying to make you 3rd class citizens and deny you any rights other immigrants have.
I rather hold up, renew this EAD from DACA and AOS like everyone else. I got about 5 years left.
