We have to do better.
That's awful.

Yep. I understand that there are significant challenges to be overcome such as some states not giving in-state tuition, not being eligible for federal aid, not being able to take out loans, etc.

However, in my experience I have also encountered countless people and organizations who recognize the problem and are willing to help. I am convinced that opportunities are out there for us to go get them, and it is disappointing that many are not.

To make this even worse, 65% of Americans who graduate high school go to college, 40% have a degree.

Come on guys, lets put our EADs to work! We might have to work a little or a lot harder, but there are opportunitites.

Alright good to hear. I definitely did not remember anything like that during my first renewal. I sent my application on 1/15 and received 1/19. Got biometrics done today. Now just waiting on my brother. He sent his on 1/31 via USPS to Dallas lockbox and arrived on saturday 2/3. He still haven't gotten a text yet. He should have gotten a text at least yesterday if following my timeline. He expires Jan 2019. Do you think they're not accepting it or something? I did send mine to lewisville instead of the dallas lockbox. Could that have been the difference? Anyone with any experience sending it to dallas and how long till you got a notification?

Should I do a walk in or wait to do it on appointment date? Figured I'd extend it a little since I'm renewing so early compared to before.

Check data from spreadsheet below.

tl;dr: 3-4 business days from delivery date to notice date; text message 1-2 days after that.

Since you don't expire any time soon, just wait til the date you were giving. Free up some space for those who are expiring earlier, buy yourself some more time while you're at it.

They'll return your application and will tell you to re-submit. If you want to save some time, you can print out the forms again and send it out while the old one is in transit.

You too?
Mine states: "In Process"
USCIS has accepted your application, petition, or request for processing."

WTF - why is mine different?! I did my bio on 1/30
