Hey guys I have finally hit the 6 month period I did a service request and this is what it said:

Type of service requested:
-- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 30 days of the date of this letter.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I guess it's just a waiting game. Hopefully I will get an approval soon.

How does long does it take to look over a packet of documents? My sisters case was approved in 2 months and here I am still waiting. Lets see if I make it to the six months. I'm 2 weeks away from it.

That's exactly how I felt. I'm approved and I'm thankful for it but I refuse to believe they are doing some CIA-grade investigation on "the case". I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe they have to send letters out to verify the documents but after seeing some of my friends cases that was approved fairly quickly, that can't be the case. I still believe they just have them sitting in a filing cabinet picking randomly at which case to adjudicate.

That's exactly how I feel. If that's the case, it's very cruel. I really hope they are actually doing something with our cases all this time and not sitting in the back somewhere.
