yes there is a timeline , its not official yet and they havent announced it , but it is 4-6 months , the representative said i was more then welcomed to call after my 6 month mark , (the regular time) in order to put in a request , theirs people that have gotten approved 22 days after the 6 months , ill be praying for your approval , should anytime , dont loose hope , & keep your faith up

Your lawyer is right. Attorneys seem to be eliminated from the picture after the application is filed. The same info you get is the same info he/she gets unfortunately.

My lawyer has been checking up on it since I hit the 3rd month. She always kept me updated. Last week, after I sent her the useless letter from the congresspersons office she decided go contact her immigration contacts until she received a real response.

She has been with me for the past 10 years this month. Have not paid her a dollar. She charged me I think....$50 or $60 to file the application, and she said if I can afford it. So if you guys are paying thousands of dollars, that lawyer better be on top of everything.

I'm happy to say that I was approved tonight! I'm one of the very lucky ones because the process was very fast for me. They received my application February 1 and I took my biometrics on March 6. I checked this morning and both applications were in initial review. I checked again tonight after work and the work permit was approved. Just checked 10 minutes ago and now both are approved.
