In my opinion, it your packet is perfectly fine. If you were able to get your biometric appointment and you even had it completed then it means its definitely not that you have to turn in more evidence from the packet. To me, the RFE is solely from the the Biometrics results. You said you dont have a criminal history and your case is more than perfect since you came here at a young age, received a H.S. diploma and even attended college. You also proved all requirements. Therefore, it definitely has to do with the SS# and your background check.

BUT, dont worry because you are not a criminal and everyone in this country who cant work make them up all the time. What I am thinking is that they will be asking you to prove that it is yours since they saw it wasnt. I am sure too that it will have an option to prove or state that it was made up and no illegal acts were made. So again im sure you will just need to let them know that it was made up and that you were confused about that question and did not know it was only asking for ss# officially assigned by the SSAdministration.

DONT STRESS, you meet all the requirements and you are not a criminal so you have nothing to worry! It was just a misunderstanding that can be easily fixed. I will pray for all you guys.
I would like to clear up some confusion. Some people seem to believe that if they got fingerprinting appointmnts that it is some sort of indication that "their case is good". Let me explain the process:

Forst contractors at the lockbox open the package and check what sort of case it is, that the correct forms and fees are all included. If yes, then the case is stamped as received and the money is deposited to USCIS. Then the paperwork is scanned. The computer issues the case number and generates the email and text message. The case is then sent to USCIS. Then a biometric appt is generated. Nobody reviews the case before the biometric appt is made, except to determine that the correct fee and form was sent. After that the case sits until "its turn". Once it gets tot he top of the "stack" is the first time an adjudicator will look at it. If it is immediately approvable it will be processed. If there is a problem, then an RFE is issued. In any type of case processed by USCIS, once an RFE response is received the case is almost immediately decided, unless there is some problem with the background check.

My point is that EVERYBODY gets a biometric appt, and it does not mean that your package was complete or that you qualify.

USCIS said that they expect half of the cases to be deficient. The good news is that they plan to give people a second chance by sending RFEs. Generally RFEs are simple matters to resolve. For example, it is possible that the person simply put the wrong date next to their signature.

I am an attorney, and I am stating my experience after nine years of handling immigration cases, and having clients come to me after trying to do their cases themselves, and getting denied. Personally, I have never gotten a denial after an RFE because of lack of evidence, because I know what I am doing. I have gotten RFEs, and often they ask for something that I had already sent them. I just send it again along with the blue sheet, and everybody is happy. The people that answer an RFE without sending everything correctly the second time have always, in the past, gotten denied, and then they hire me. But it is true that this time they may be trying to be extra helpful to the large number of young people trying to do it themselves. However I would strongly recommend being extra careful to fully comply with the RFE rather than rely on that they may issue a second one.

My heart just skipped a beat. I doubt it's anything serious, if it was you would not be getting an RFE but a denial. No need to worry, as long as everything you filled out in your app is legit you should be fine.

You guys have me freaking out. I am now instead of looking for an approval , looking to make sure I don't get an RFE. My packet was very similar to OP's and I have already gone 35+ days without hearing from them!!!!

You're right, a lot of people should know this, and a lot of us have try to made them aware of the procedural steps involved with an immigration process, but to some there is always a rumor or hearsay that debunk the Fact.

I am glad that we have voices like you that might clear some of the hardcore unbelievers out there.

Geek, you only been on these forums for no more than a month and you are all ready heading for a thousand posts. You starting to post like DA_USER.

Speaking of DA_USER, what the F@#k happened to that poor man. He all of a sudden disappeared. I miss his "What about 31+ DREAMers?" lol

There are other people who have more than me in a month. What's wrong about that?

getting an RFE is not the end of the world. It's actually quite normal. They may just ask you to re-submit one of the documents you've already submitted. Or it could just be a request for a birth certificate. When you get the details, I think it'd be a good idea to consult a lawyer or reach out to a non-profit assisting DACA beneficiaries. Hopefully things are gonna be just fine. no worries!
