And the majority of the site got what I counter pointed.

If you don't think DACA is enough then by all means find another method to remain here with a better status that DACA gives you

"Pathetic " "growthe fuck up" and then "Constructive conversation" "it's become toxic at times" way to contradict oneself.

Guy a comes and says DACA is set up for us to fail. Do you think that's true
You seem to really enjoy quoting others, so I'll quote it below to save you some effort.

We still cannot apply for FAFSA, Obamacare or get certain jobs. Try traveling to another country without first applying for advance parole and let's see what happens. At any time or new president, this can all be taken away and then what? Will DACA recipients resort back to how things were before DACA or move out of the country? It only put a band-aid on a problem but never solved it. That's why people are feeling depressed because of this.
I believe ECL's point in DACA being set up for us to fail is that even after people are accepted, the path to citizenship still seems very far out of reach. It feels like false advertisement for the United States to boast that these people now have a new "path to citizenship", but it's a result of the slightest of technicalities. AP, too, is nail-biting to apply for and receive. And again, the fragility of DACA's existence makes it a non-viable long-term solution. Your statement below appears to acknowledge this, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically where what you're crying here is that given DACA isn't enough because it's in no means a path of ever being turn into anything else than with it and because of this it was set up to fail. Did you apply for DACA with out knowing of any this? You're making it seem as if no one ever told you this at all. Basically you're crying because no one told you DACA isn't a path into legalization. Everyone here or at least some of us here knew DACA was a dead end in the spectrum of finding a path of adjustment. But many people took advantage of this one little loophole DACA made possible. AP and being allowed back with inspection which makes adjusting through marriage a lot easier. It seems you're mad and upset DACA isn't more of what you think you deserve and if you're unhappy. I suggest you pack your bags and self deport now. Then find whatever method you can to enter the country legally. Or actually make a life from whatever country you're from. There isn't anything temporary there you know and you won't be afraid of having your citizenship there ended by some political entity
Many people took advantage of the AP loophole, true, but so many more, with talks of DAPA, believed that DACA could eventually evolve into a viable, long-term solution. It's reasonable for ECL and many others to be frustrated, because it's a pain in the ass to apply and go through this whole process to begin with. It's rewarding in allowing us to obtain jobs and make a living, but it feels like a short-term reward with no end in sight unless you want to seek out marriage (which earns you more suspicion if residency is your primary reasoning). Thankfully MAVNI is another option, but it's not the catch-all solution for everyone (of course, it's incredibly unlikely that there is a catch-all solution for all of this, since there rarely ever is).

People feel depressed because the investment they've put into maintaining lives here, in context of current political machinations, seems like it will go nowhere. Not everyone applied to DACA just for the marriage loophole through AP - many looked toward to suggestions of future expansion. As I've stated earlier, for many people the consequences of just "packing up and leaving" far outweigh the benefits of safety in their home country - they've invested their time and efforts into starting families, education, and lives here. "Self-deporting" and waiting the ten-year ban, for many, is not a viable solution.

Do I agree with ECL in feeling like DACA is set up for us to fail? You seem to acknowledge that it's a dead end with the exception of the AP-marriage loophole, and with plans of expansion at a dead halt, I do feel like at the moment it's a very bottlenecked, dead-end process. There are a lot of awful hoops to jump through, and while it's not completely impossible, it'll most likely require a killer immigration attorney.

On another note, there seems to be a lot of the good old "poisoning the well" going on in this forum, from all sides. Dismissing another person's opinion simply because of who they support in this election, or accusing others of supporting a certain loud-mouthed Republican frontrunner just because of previous statements without proof is rather unnecessary. I'm sure it'll continue, but I implore everyone to not lower themselves to the same derived name-calling that Trump's been using all election season.

Look since day one I have been telling people here if they're not happy with DACA they should just forget about it. Not renew and continue living their lives as before. This isn't new here at all. If I could I'd go back years of my post history to prove this.

Now back to your last point - really the toxic here has been around since day one. Some just react to it different than others -

What I don't understand is if they think DACA isn't enough then why bother with at all? There is nothing we can about it. We can try to be active but look what happened to that one DACA person whose renewal was rejected because she had been involved in rallies and stuff like that? So what's exactly is the alternative here? Continue complaining and whining here that DACA was meant to fail?

Move on and find a better path

In terms of toxicity, I feel like it's just turned into this petty "A said he thinks Sanders has a shot over Clinton because of EmailGate, so B calls him a BernieBro, and by default therefore a Trump supporter" kind of deal. There are better ways to disagree with someone than to just go into degrading, derived name-calling.

I'm from Washington state, and there are a lot of Sanders supporters here. Personally, I'm not too big a fan of Clinton myself and think Sanders holds a lot of moral integrity. You can disagree with me and say that Sanders won't do shit for us as illegal aliens, because his whole starting point has been about making things better for the American people (who aren't us), and that we're just another obstacle for what he REALLY wants. Noted, you have a valid point. Sanders has been very iffy about immigration policy, and he very recently confirmed his stance on a path to citizenship for illegals. His track record with immigration is dotty, mainly because he voted against the immigration reform bill in 2007 for very specific belief-driven reasons about slave-like cheap labor. You can choose to call that an excuse and an attempt to pander, the same way I might point out Clinton's discrepancies on other subjects. No candidate is perfect after all.

Apologies for the rambling, I tend to be verbose as hell and it's truly an Achilles' heel for things requiring word counts hahaha (I'm going through major applications right now, KILL ME).

Tl;dr: I don't think Bernie is our downfall, not in comparison to Trump (even if he's juking the Republican party it's the animosity he's stirring that's equally as worrying), and I'd appreciate it if we stopped accusing each other baselessly just because someone supports a certain candidate or has X views about Y that might disagree with your own.

Only two things can come out of this: You come back after more than 10 years with a path to adjust (Congrrats) or you don't (which proves you wrong).
Lol Piano went full retard.

None of us can vote so stfu.
